07/04/2008 - The clinic has now become part of the Medivet Group, this means that we will have access to many more modern resources and we will be better able to serve our clients.

Scott chose to sell his practice to Medivet, which is a partnership of practising veterinary surgeons, established in 1987. Medivet operates several other branches in the area, namely in Chelmsford, Danbury, Hockley, Wickford, Southend (Eastwood) and Thorpe Bay.

Woodham Halt Veterinary Surgery was established in 1983 by Scott Nimmo. Due to Scott’s popularity with his clients, the surgery has grown into a busy 3 vet practice. The  vets who currently work at the surgery (namely Aisling Sumners and Amy McGregor ) will be continuing as usual. They have been joined by a new vet, Caroline Frederix, who replaces Scott and has an excellent track record.

All of the support staff, namely Karen Blake, Chris Alderton ,Sian Le Breton, Clare Osborn and Caroline Willcocks, will remain employed at Woodham Halt. Additional reception staff are currently being sought.

Woodham Halt Veterinary Surgery is a practice with an excellent reputation and Medivet intends to follow in Scott’s footsteps by continuing to deliver the high standard of veterinary care and personal service to which you have been accustomed.

Although Woodham Halt Veterinary Surgery will be part of a group of practices, it will remain very much a local veterinary practice. This means it will run in a very similar style to what currently exists and based largely on the personal relationships the staff have developed with their patients and clients over many years.

By being part of Medivet, Woodham Halt Veterinary Surgery will benefit from the additional skills, facilities and support of staff at other local branches, most notably the 24 hour open practice in Eastwood, Southend, where vets and nurses are in attendance 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

As Medivet has been providing an after-hours emergency service to clients of Woodham Halt Veterinary Surgery for the past 3 years at the Eastwood practice, many clients will be familiar with Medivet already.

Medivet hopes to have a partner in each of its practices (as this ultimately provides long term stability for practice clients and staff alike) and Medivet intends entering into discussions with Aisling Sumners in this regard in the near future.
